What Brought Me to WSU!

There are a couple of main reasons that made me want to continue my education at Wright State University. Going into my senior year in high school, I knew I wanted to major in accounting. I looked into which colleges and universities offered a good program in accounting and by doing some research and visiting Wright State University, I knew it would be a good school for me to enroll at. So a big reason for me coming to Wright State University is that they have offer a good accounting program.

I was never on the campus of Wright State before visiting it. I researched the school a good deal the summer before my senior year, so I had a little bit of knowledge on how the campus was set up and everything. I visited main campus the fall of my senior year, and I thought it was a very nice campus. The campus is extremely clean, and I like a clean area. The campus seems to be secured well, and security employees seem to work at the best of their ability to keep everything and everyone on campus safe. Another thing that I like about campus is that all of the academic buildings are fairly close to each other. The campus has many buildings, but the campus itself is not that big. It doesn’t take you too long to walk from one side of the campus to the other, so that can be pretty convenient if you have classes on one side of the campus and another class ten minutes later on the opposite side of campus.
Then there are the tunnels! The tunnels provide a great way for students to get to class during the cold and rainy weather. The tunnels are air conditioned in the warmer times of the season, and heated during the cold.
These are the main points that made me want to further my education at Wright State University. Through my first three weeks, I am really enjoying it, and haven’t had any problems!

A Song With Significant Meaning to Me

I enjoy listening to all genres of music. It just kind of depends on the day I guess as to what I want to listen to most. A song though that I think has significant meaning to me is “Don’t Blink” by Kenny Chesney. This is a country song, and I have heard it played on the radio for many years now, and I think it has a lot of meaning to it.
This song explains how life goes faster than you may think. From the lyrics of the song, you can get that it says you should do the things you want to do most first, because if you put them off for a later time, there might not be time left for you to do what it was that you wanted to do since life can go by so fast. In the song, Chesney simply says, “Take every breathe God gives you for what it’s worth.” (Kenny Chesney) I agree a lot with what is said in the lyrics of this song. If there is something that I want to do really bad, compared to something that I want to do, but not really bad, then I will definitely do what I really want to do the most first.
I think the purpose for Chesney writing this song, was to get the point across to people who do listen to his music that life goes by fast, so do what you want to do now before there is no time left for you to do it. His audience for this song is people of high interest in country music. More specifically though, I think this would be targeted towards the younger generation, as they really do not realize how fast life can go by, as many adults probably have realized more how fast time does go. As I said before, the genre of music of this song is country. I think Chesney’s stance on this is to have a positive attitude, and to do everything you can to make yourself happy, and to do those things that will make you the most happy now before it is too late. The media of this song is spoken. You hear this song played at concerts, on television, and on the radio.

I Would Most Like to Meet...

There is one man who has been involved in the game of basketball for many, many years that I would love to meet and that man is Bob Knight. There are multiple reasons that give me good reason to want to meet Knight. The main reason is because basketball is my favorite sport to play and watch, and Knight is one of the greats in the history of the game. The one thing that is acknowledged most about him is that he is the all-time leader in NCAA Division 1 men’s basketball victories as a head coach.

Knight emphasized good work ethic in a basketball player, and would not put up with a student athlete who wouldn’t put forth the work in the classroom, or on the court. I enjoyed watching his show that he had on ESPN, because it showed me how hard a student athlete has to work to get to that stage of the game. It is remarkable to see how good of an attitude you have to have too to play for one of the best coaches in the history of the game.

Another big reason on why I think it would it would be interesting to meet Knight is that he was always viewed as an entertainer on the sidelines. Back in his earlier years as a coach, it would always be entertaining to watch him throw chairs from the bench onto the court and to watch him grab a player by the neck. It would always seem like he was just an all-around violent guy, but when listening to him announce a game on national television, he always seems like such a nice, soft-hearted individual. Something else that I find very interesting about Knight too is that he was actually born in the state of Ohio, which is where I was born, and have always lived.

These are some of the main things that come to mind in me wanting to meet Bob Knight. It would be such a great experience, and something that I would never forget if it did actually happen someday.
